Lincoln in the Bardo by George Saunders was named winner of the 2017 Man Booker Prize for Fiction. It is the first full-length novel by the author and it tells the story of a child trapped in a state of limbo between the dead and the living, in a ghostly world populated by the recently passed and the long dead. The style of Saunders’ narrative was compared to fireworks that lit up the sky and make things look different.
