Oxford Debate on Human Rights Day

Dziś w naszej szkole w ramach Dnia Praw Człowieka odbyła się debata, w której wzięli udział licealiści z Europejskiego Liceum Ogólnokształcącego oraz Pierwszego Dwujęzycznego Liceum Ogólnokształcącego wraz z przedstawicielami grona pedagogicznego.
Tezą debaty była współczesna wystarczalność praw człowieka. Jej zamierzeniem natomiast było nie tylko kształtowanie sztuki i kultury dyskusji, o co zadbała polonistycznym okiem pani Katarzyna Chrzęszczyk. Przede wszystkim poruszyliśmy kwestię wagi kształtujących się postaw młodych ludzi, którzy w przyszłości będą dbali o nasze prawa - to był jeden z celów dyskusji, który uświadomiła nam pani Edyta Krawczyk - pedagog szkolny.
Rozmawialiśmy na temat przemian praw człowieka na przestrzeni dziejów - o tym i o niemałym wkładzie Polski w proces kształtowania owych praw - przypomniał nam nauczyciel historii pan Maciej Obara.
Ponadto podzieliliśmy się spostrzeżeniami w kwestii przestrzegania i egzekwowania naszych praw, a także refleksjami w sprawie proponowanych metamorfoz prawa.
Rozważaliśmy delikatne kwestie naszej moralności i indywidualności sumienia pod czujnym okiem nauczyciela etyki pana Aleksandra Króla.
Wspomniane konteksty historyczne czy socjologiczne były wsparciem dla wypowiedzi Naszych Uczniów, które ze względu na swoją dojrzałość merytoryczną i emocjonalną - naprawdę wzbudziły w nas ogromną dumę. Oby więcej takich spotkań!

Today at our school, as part of the Human Rights Day, a debate took place which was attended by high school students from both the European High School and the First Bilingual High School together with representatives of the teaching staff. The thesis of the debate was the contemporary sufficiency of human rights. It's intention was not only to shape craft and culture of discussion, which was ensured by the Polish teacher, Ms Katarzyna Chrzęszczyk. First of all, we raised the issue of the importance of sheaping the attitudes of young people, who will ensure our rights in the future - that was one of the goals of the discussion. We talked about the transformation of human rights throughout history - about this and about Poland's considerable contribution to the process of shaping these rights. In addition, we shared our observations on compliance with and enforcing our rights, as well as reflecting on the proposed metamorphosis of law. We considered the delicate issues of our morals and individuality conscience under the watchful eye of the ethics teacher, Mr. Aleksander Król. These historical and sociological contexts were a support for statements of our students, which due to their maturity, they really made us proud. May more such meetings occur!
