Dzień drugi
Drugiego dnia zwiedziliśmy National Gallery, w której można zobaczyć m.in. ‘Słoneczniki’ Van Gogha czy obrazy impresjonistów.
W ten dzień odwiedziliśmy również dwa fantastyczne muzea, będące jednym z symboli brytyjskiej stolicy– mowa oczywiście o Science Museum i Natural History Museum.
Dzień zakończyliśmy w China Town, chińskiej dzielnicy pachnącej tysiącem orientalnych potraw i mieniącej się kolorami rozbłyskujących świateł rozrywkowej części metropolii Leicester Square i Piccadilly Circus.
We visited the National Gallery, where you can see, among others, Van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' and paintings by the Impressionists. On this day, we also visited two fantastic museums, which are symbols of the British capital – namely the Science Museum and the Natural History Museum. We ended the day in China Town, the Chinese district, filled with the scent of a thousand oriental dishes, and in the vibrant, colorful entertainment hub of Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus.
Dzień trzeci
Trzeci dzień zaczęliśmy od części Londynu zwanej Bankside, tam m. in. przeszliśmy wzdłuż Tamizy obok Shakespeare’s Globe - wiernej kopii teatru słynnego dramatopisarza.
Przeszliśmy Millenium Bridge, znanym z serii filmów o Harrym Potterze, a także stanęliśmy w obliczu pełnej rozmachu St Paul’s Cathedral czyli najważniejszej anglikańskiej świątyni w stolicy.
Przeszliśmy się też po City of London - historycznej dzielnicy finansowej, gdzie swoją siedzibę ma Giełda Papierów Wartościowych i Narodowy Bank Anglii.
Zobaczyliśmy Tower of London, londyńską twierdzę, która od XI wieku była siedzibą królów angielskich.
Na zakończenie dnia miała miejsce wizyta na jednym z najsłynniejszych londyńskich dworców – King’s Cross.
Następnie udaliśmy się na rejs wzdłuż Tamizy.
Po południu był czas na podziwianie Londynu z perspektywy szklanych kopuł London Eye.
We started this day in a part of London called Bankside, where we walked along the Thames past Shakespeare's Globe, a faithful replica of the famous playwright's theater. We crossed the Millennium Bridge, famous from the Harry Potter series, and also stood in front of the grand St Paul's Cathedral, the most important Anglican church in the capital. We also walked through the City of London, the historic financial district, home to the Stock Exchange and the Bank of England. We saw the Tower of London, the London fortress that has been the residence of English kings since the 11th century. At the end of the day, we visited one of London's most famous train stations – King's Cross. Then we went on a cruise along the Thames. In the afternoon, there was time to admire London from the perspective of the glass domes of the London Eye.
Dzień czwarty
Na uczestników czekała wizyta w słynnym muzeum figur woskowych Madame Tussauds.
Następnie udaliśmy się na Oxford Street, najbardziej rozpoznawalną ulicę handlową na świecie. Podziwialiśmy spektakularny musical londyńskiego West Endu pt.‘Frozen’.
Nie zabrakło także przejażdżki słynnym czerwonym londyńskim double-deckerem oraz wizyty w sklepie Hamleys – największym na świecie sklepie z zabawkami!
The participants had a visit to the famous Madame Tussauds wax museum awaiting them. Then we headed to Oxford Street, the most recognizable shopping street in the world. We admired the spectacular musical of London's West End, titled 'Frozen'. There was also a ride on the famous red London double-decker bus and a visit to Hamleys – the world's largest toy store!
Ostatni dzień
Ostatniego dnia odwiedziliśmy królewski park Greenwich znajdujący się na terenie jednej z londyńskich gmin o tej samej nazwie, gdzie m.in. zwiedziliśmy Maritime Museum - najważniejsze muzeum morskie w Zjednoczonym Królestwie i największe muzeum tego typu na świecie. Uczniowie dowiedzieli się jak powstawała brytyjska morska potęga, poznali historię Admirała Nelsona i słynnej bitwy pod Trafalgarem, a także jak kształtował się brytyjski kolonializm.
Przeszliśmy także przez kampus University of Greenwich, dawnego szpitala marynarki wojennej, uznawanego za architektoniczne dzieło sztuki, stworzone rękoma znakomitego architekta Christophera Wrena, jak również weszliśmy na Greenwich Hill, skąd rozpościera się jeden z najbardziej spektakularnych widoków na stolicę Anglii i stanęliśmy na Południku „0”.
Było wspaniale! Nie możemy doczekać się kolejnej wycieczki!
On the last day, we visited the Royal Greenwich Park, located in one of the London boroughs of the same name, where, among other things, we visited the Maritime Museum, the most important maritime museum in the United Kingdom and the largest museum of its kind in the world, where students learned about the formation of British maritime power, the history of Admiral Nelson and the famous Battle of Trafalgar, as well as how British colonialism shaped, walked through the University of Greenwich campus, a former naval hospital, considered an architectural masterpiece, created by the hands of the eminent architect Christopher Wren, and we also climbed Greenwich Hill, from where one of the most spectacular views of the capital of England unfolds, and stood on the Prime Meridian "0".
It was wonderful! We can't wait for the next trip!
